Standing up straight with your legs a little wider than hip width apart and feet parallel, turn one of your feet out so that the toes are pointing at 90 degree angle (this is the front foot) and also checking that the heel of the front foot is inline with the arch of the back foot.
Raise your arms to shoulder height parallel to the ground and start to bend into the front leg making sure your knee is directly above the ankle.
Check that you can still see your big toe as this means your knee is aligned properly. Your hips should be facing the side and torso upright.
Gaze over your front hand just beyond the fingertips. Hold this position for a few breathes and then repeat on the opposite side.
You can do this pose over the seat of your chair or without.
